Weapons and Uniforms of the American Revolution
The Revolutionary War was the most inspiring war in history, as well as one of the only wars fought on continental U.S soil. After eight grueling years of Cat-and-Mouse warfare, the Patriots became the only British colony to gain independence from Britain. The turning point came when George Washington set up an alliance with men who conducted acts of espionage. It took a lot of perseverance and guerilla tactics, but with new weapons and help from the French and Spanish, the Americans became victorious. Battles with the British were gruesome and difficult. The Americans ran away whenever the British attacked because their of lack of supplies and mainly a lack of morale. They faced an arduous ordeal, but with their great leaders and generals they managed. The war was made even more difficult by traitors. Brigadier General Benedict Arnold, was involved in what can be considered the single most potentially damaging act of treason in America's history.
